What can I do if I forgot my user password? If you've forgotten the password you created for your user account, have your Mac's administrator log in, open System Preferences, click Users, and edit your account to re-create your password. If you are the administrator, you'll need to restart your Mac using the OS X installation CD and reset your password. Insert the CD and restart your Mac while holding the C key until the Installer screen appears. When it does, choose Installer > Reset Password. Select the drive on which OS X is installed and choose your account from the first pop-up menu. Create a new password, click Save, close the window, and restart your Mac.
